LAHORE: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has contacted national cricketer Mohammad Rizwan multiple times seeking access to his mobile phone for an in-depth forensic analysis, ARY News reported on Sunday, citing well-placed sources.
According to sources, Mohammad Rizwan has not been fully cooperating with the NCCIA inquiry. They said that if he does not cooperate fully, the agency may pursue legal action.
Sources said the phone’s anti-theft lock and facial recognition lock need to be disabled to complete the investigation.
The NCCIA can reportedly unlock the phone using various mobile forensic tools. However, sources said the use of such tools could result in the deletion of some data, which the agency does not want.
The NCCIA is expected to contact Mohammad Rizwan again on September 28, sources said and added if he does not cooperate with the investigation, a written notice will subsequently be issued.
Sources also claimed that some people were encouraging Rizwan not to cooperate, but said they were not acting in his best interests.
